Yep,

Performance drops but where I live 20F is about the lowest temp historically.

A good HVAC person designs for the heat loss of the house and it's volume.

I'm going to install a mini split that can also run off my PV array directly and 240 AC at the same time.

It takes solar when it's available and then supplements AC when necessary or off of my storage.

But the sweet part it's COP at 15F is 3.5.

24,000 BTU about half of my current R22 heat pump.

Variable speed at the set temp to maintain temp.

Best of all worlds.
