Wharfie, now your excuse is that California, like the rest of America, has way too much oil infrastructure that was built up over 100 years, and that is weighing down our eventual transition to a renewable energy utopia.

Yet you want to pretend that Iceland, Paraguay, Norway, and Costa Rica never had that much infrastructure built around fossil fuels? They just simply made a jump from the Dark Ages to a renewable energy future?

Right.

Also riddle me this. We had an infrastructure built around telephone land lines that was built over 100 years.

Yet today everyone is on cell phones.

How come Steve Jobs wasn't burdened by all that legacy land line infrastructure? That liberal hippie didn't come up with lame excuses like you are doing.
