Michael - Re: Intel and the i740

By most accounts, Intel seems to have a very good graphics chip with the i740. It addresses a broad market: 2D acceleration, 3D acceleration and video and is reasonably priced.

It may no be the very fastest, but it isn't far behind the leaders.

Now Intel's manufacturing, marketing and name brand recognition will go to work to, hopefully, make the i740 (and it future offspring) a checklist item for new PC purchasers.

I'll bet Intel is working with their ad agency on a "graphics chip" campaign.

My suggestion - they do a knock-off on the Apple-Snail-Pentium TV ad, with a notice: Powered by Intel - Pentium II and i740.

By the way - I think Apple's Snail ad is one of the best Pentium II TV ads I have ever seen. It clearly shows the product - a sharp image of the Pentium II SEC cartridge - and I'll bet most people are left with the impression that the Pentium II is the "brains" inside that new Apple G3 computer.

Thank you, Steve!
