I remember speed reading! I think my mom and dad talked about it.

I am trying to offload many of my books at half price books. Although I have sold some signed editions on ebay.

We had the speed reading machine with the bar of light that the machine would move down the page at the speed you set to train the brain to follow it. This was probably early 70s or so.

Nowadays, I speed read (articles and such) by looking at a larger block of text and pulling key words to interpolate the general meaning and not wade through every letter of someone else's verbiage. It has been a useful tool in life.
