marc, Here's my theory...the oil drop caught some small time investors by surprise. They probably had buy orders in at the open before they went to work. Typically the opening price gyrates up and down while the limit orders are filled then finds a diriction either up or down. I don't like to buy OSX at the open. It's risky. Even tho you can get burned holding overnight(today is a good example!) the stocks usually trade with the previous closing activity. of SLB, HAL, GLM, etc. If we get that closing surge up then we usually gap up next day.That was hppening a bit this morning but the oil killed it quick.
