Yep, There were some tradeoffs but nothing like the environmental damage to the Earth done by mining and burning Fossil Fuels! Damage to ecosystems, mining coal and all of those oil spills into rivers and oceans. Naw, FF's are slowly being priced out of business. They simply can't compete on price anymore. Renewables are getting cheaper and cheaper every day for decades and decades to come. That's totally impossible for ff's. And your fuels are finite! A terminal situation for them that's impossible to avoid.
