James,

You don't have a clue about what fossil fuels are doing to the environment of the world.

Your stuck in the past spinning your wheels stuck in that grease.

More and more electric vehicles are driving on electrons that don't pollute!

And to top it off are a lot cheaper than fossil fuels to move down the road.

The world is going to pass you by.

How much mining is required for electric cars?

To run, EVs require six times the mineral input, by weight, of conventional vehicles, excluding steel and aluminum. These minerals, including cobalt, nickel, lithium and manganese, are finite resources. And mining and processing them can be harmful for workers, their communities and the local environment.Apr 27, 2023

How bad is mining lithium for electric cars?

Though emissions deriving from mining these two elements are lower than those deriving from fossil fuels production, the extraction methods for lithium and cobalt can be very energy intensive – leading to air and water pollution, land degradation, and potential for groundwater contamination.Mar 31, 2023

What damage is caused by lithium mining?

The process of extracting lithium consumes significant amounts of water and energy, and lithium mining can pollute the air and water with chemicals and heavy metals. In addition, mining lithium can disrupt wildlife habitats and cause soil erosion, leading to long-term ecological damage.Feb 24, 2023

Are lithium batteries worse than fossil fuels?

According to the Wall Street Journal, lithium-ion battery mining and production are worse for the climate than the production of fossil fuel vehicle batteries. Production of the average lithium-ion battery uses three times more cumulative energy demand (CED) compared to a generic battery.May 11, 2023

Which is worse lithium or gasoline?

The production of lithium-ion batteries also requires a significant amount of energy, which is typically generated from nonrenewable sources such as coal and natural gas. This means that the production of EVs can actually result in higher greenhouse gas emissions than the production of gas-powered vehicles.Feb 27, 2023

How much earth needs to be moved for a Tesla battery?

To manufacture each EV battery, you must process 25,000 pounds of brine for the lithium 30,000 pounds of ore for the cobalt 5,000 pounds of ore for the nickel, 25,000 pounds of ore for copper Diging up 500,000 pounds of the earth's crust For just - one - battery.Aug 21, 2023
