Alan,

Getting retail box makers is one thing. But many corporations get 'custom' configurations when they decide on standard configurations. Few just walk in to the Gateway store or call Dell on the phone and order 75,000 systems 'off-the-shelf'. When the corporate I/S buyer walks in and asks if he can have the xyz component instead of the ghi device, the box maker will most times cut him a custom configuration.
KE has been making inroads in some of the areas necessary to become the standard, but I think he may be vulnerable to a SONY full court corporate FUD push. I think he thinks this, that's one reason to make ZIP ubiquitous within and without the corporate buying offices via the ad campaign.
