Hope this penetrates that vestigial organ that posits as your brain: The survey is comprised of 476 Fortune 1,000 companies, divided into 55 distinct industry groups. More than 12,000 senior executives, outside directors, and financial security analysts were asked to grade the ten largest companies (or in some cases fewer) in their own industry on eight key attributes of reputation. Those scores, each on a one-to-ten scale, were equally weighted and combined to give an aggregate score for every company.
