It "might" work if your infected to reduce symptoms but it will offer no infection protection for the next variant six months down the road.

Anyone who blindly follows a doctors advice is a fool. Pure and simple. Especially now that they are afraid to lose their license to practice medicine if they deviate from govt directives especially wrt to "Covid"
