For information on Sony/Fuji HiFD drives:

fujifilm.com
ita.sel.sony.com

Also, search ZDNet for HiFD - there's plenty of information.

On an unrelated note: does anybody know anything about SyQuest's
near future development plans? Basically, are there EzFlyer or
SyJet-compatible drives in the works?

Why the fuss about the Sony drive? Imation et al have had their LS120 drive out for a while and it seems to be a big yawn. Why expect anything more from the Sony? I'm far from being an expert on the technology, but isn't this just another high capacity floppy with the attendant slow transfer rates? It might be better than a Zip, but I'll still stick with a Sparq any day. Or the Orb if it ever sees the light of day.
