The most significant misstep was the zero Covid policy, which was beyond stupid. Perhaps a government that controls its population minutely actually thought it could control the movement of a microscopic particle. Ironic, having miss-handled the virus from its creation, the Chinese government gets its miss-steps handed back to it. In spades.
