Class action suit against IOM

I just received an email about a class action suit against
IOM for registered Jazz owner between 7/16/94 and 9/01/97.
(The sender is iomega@warranty.iomega.com so this does not look like a prank to me).
Can anybody explain in layman term what this is about?
