We never delved into MM but might once we re-watch most of the rest of the UK detective pantheon. Ditto Vera. We just did the first Lewis after finishing Morse, and I can see going back to Last Detective and maybe Banks or Gently.

Few of the plots ever seem to stick, so it's almost like watching new seasons.

The Xmas specials also promise new seasons of Death in Paradise, Beyond Paradise, and Madame Blanc sometime soon.

Midwife and All Creatures start up on PBS Sunday along with something new.

It's actually a bit of a relief for me that Douglas Henshall has moved on from Shetland. He is an excellent actor and Perez was an interesting character, but of late it felt like he had wrung everything possible from the role. Further, to me it almost got painful as it seemed more and more like he had to force every word out of his mouth. Very effective, but not pleasant.

The actress playing the new detective back from London seems very familiar, but I can't figure out from where. Looking through he work, maybe it's from Catastrophe, but I don't think so.

Are you sure you want to visit those towns from Midsomer? There seems to be a ridiculously high murder rate there...
