W.B,

That is a lot of DELL! I noticed that MLCO has been unusually active today. I do not have a complete score for them but I will take a look.

DELL based on past history should have retained a significant portion of its component cost improvements despite the serious price reductions they have been making. They seem to reduce price 2 to 3 times faster than CPQ. I think this is largely because they have little inventory pipeline compared to the other companies. In particular, CPQ's pipe is about 8 weeks deep.

Re Merrill Lynch listing as #1 Hold

www1.wsrn.com

According to the link above, DELL currently has about 50% of its shares held by 790 institutions. Can anyone tell me if that is increasing, decreasing, or fairly constant?

DELLish, 3.

mr. w michaels. given the amount of misinformation on the internet regarding companies it is beneficial to post the source of your information if available. your information was the only post that day which needed checking. i'll work on the growing up part. i apologize if my comment was offensive. it was intended to be provacative (to tempt you to respond - it obviously worked negatively) so that i wouldn't need to do the foot work in looking up the information that merrill had placed dell on hold.

how was it working with merrill? what other companies might you recommend?
