Mohan, ignore that crap - DELL has 72% of its entire global business in the USA; 22% in Europe; and the balance, 6%, in Asia. DELL experienced almost 50% sequential growth from Q3 to Q4 in Europe.

DELL is a global player and is breaking ground for a new plant in Ireland to better serve the European market. It also has plants in Austin Texas and Penang Malaysia.

DELL products are currently sold in over 140 countries worldwide!

If you're a true DELLhead [all nominations must be approved by our official DELLhead committee composed of Patrick, Venkie, Sig & Kemble] you know that DELL doesn't need to artificially grow its numbers through acquisitions. Everything is home-grown.

Unlike some other large & unwieldy computer companies DELL has a very focused, rifle-shot approach to its markets. It doesn't have any glaring weaknesses and doesn't need acquisitions to hide product line problems. As I've said before Compaq's BTO system is pure unadulterated bs and the inherent weaknesses in the system are going to come back and bite CPQ in the ass. They may be able to hide it for a while with the DEC buy-out but my guess is DEC's own giant-sized problems will eventually just multiply Compaq's headaches.

Yaccov,

Not to disagree with your claim about Dell having very little business in Europe. But, isn't it possible when they refer to European sales they are talking about U.S. customers abroad? Companies they do business here with, like Ford and others?

I only wish I'd bought both Dell and CPQ, instead of just CPQ. Don't get me wrong. I'm up almost 200 percent in 17 months with CPQ and very happy with it.

Regards,
Ken
