On the other side, supposing the population rises to 700M, what would the demographics look like?

At current rate of influx of the southern border, the essentially island nature of American continent, north and south, might be simply a larger version of ... say ... Britain.

Mr Zeihan, Peter, is correct that island nature of US / N America was an advantage to essentially a maritime / pirate society / economy, but in context of hypersonic this and pipeline that, island societies are at a disadvantage, arguably.

No need to debate, just watch & brief around the markers.
