I street raced a lot, sometimes organized on Galardi way and Latimer road but mostly from a stop lights. never got caught although I had a lot of speeding tickets. I had a 1967 Mustang with a 271 hp 289 bored out to 301, 351 heads Sig Erson cam trw pistons solid lifters Holley 600 carb, hooker headers 3.50 read end, red line 6700 top speed who knows. I had her pegged past the 120 odometer in Oregon and no where near red line. I then bought a 1970 Trans am with a 400 ci for towing my jeep, the Mustang was too light. I thought my old Mustang was faster until one day on lougheed hwy I hit the gas and I was pushed back in my seat I thought WTF. turns out the Quadrajet carb secondaries would jam and not open a lot of the time. I installed a holly 650 double pumper and the car was now a rocket, way faster than the Mustang the only thing with a 5600 red line and 3.71 rear gear the car was red lined at 115 mph
