OT for Pugs....

Rocky Marciano fans fight to get him on a stamp

BROCKTON, Mass., Feb 17 (Reuters) - Fans and family of
boxer Rocky Marciano fought on Tuesday to make sure the former
heavyweight champion triumphs again -- this time in a contest
to grace a postage stamp.
Fans from Marciano's hometown of Brockton, Massachusetts,
have cast thousands of votes for him in balloting by the U.S.
Postal Service for a new stamp in honor of personalities and
memories from the 1950s.
Marciano, who retired in 1956 as the only heavyweight
champion who never lost a professional fight, is one of five
sports figures and events on the ballot. He died in 1969.
Charlie Tartaglia, 62, who remembers tossing a football
with Marciano, puts the U.S. Postal Service ballots on tables
every day at his restaurant, George's Cafe.
"I've sent in 1,500 already from George's Cafe. Every day I
put 400 or 500 on my tables. They fill them out, my waitresses
collect them and then I put the stamp on them," he told
Reuters.
A proposal to honor baseball rivals the New York Yankees
and the Brooklyn Dodgers, who met five times in World Series
between 1949 and 1956, will likely give the Marciano camp the
toughest fight, the boxer's nephew Peter Marciano said.
"There's a lot more people in New York," he said. "Let's
try to get the vote out. Rocky never lost up to this point.
Let's keep his record undefeated."
In the voting, Marciano also faces tennis legend Maureen
"Little Mo" Connolly, the sport of stock car racing, and the
New York Giants' exciting victory over the Brooklyn Dodgers in
the 1951 National League regular season playoff.
Ballots, available at post offices, must be postmarked no
later than February 28. The new stamp will be announced later
in the spring.

Pugs, I only donate money and time raising funds for an organization it appears you do not support. The Boy Scouts of America is an excellent organization, has very positive programs for youth in our area, and I believe it worthwhile to support, even if your father and you believe otherwise.

Your self-importance weighs too heavily upon you, I follow companies and try to balance hype with the truth. Your ego proceeds you. It is you that makes the personal attacks.

The spanking issued was indeed embarrassing and hopefully some good will come from it.
