I detest Bollinger Bands - technical analysts simply compensate to cover the shortcomings.
It is my understanding that Keltner Bands existed before Bollinger Bands, and they are superior.
And the Hull Trading Bands are even better.

Read the literature on BBs - 2 standard deviations, supposedly will contain 95% of the price action - not even close because the simple moving average assumes a flat trend. BB essentially views an uptrend or downtrend as increased volatility. I could write a thesis on BB defects.
Rant Over

US military action in 2024 was predicted by many geopolitical analysts - it's a presidential election year and the incumbent's polling numbers are atrocious. As for the Israeli / Palestinian conflict, Hamas had no business killing hundreds of civilians. FAFO. The Israeli response is far too destructive and indiscriminate and the U.S. should have stepped in to contain the fallout as the Palestinians do have many valid grievances. Gazans have lived under horrible conditions for 20 years and the United States is the only country that has the power to control Israel. But the Deep State forever war establishment is not interested in peaceful solutions.

I have no dog in the fight, there is propaganda from all sides. In war, the first casualty is truth. The U.S. should have stepped in weeks ago to de-escalate the tensions. The world is in desperate need of a leader with morality, courage and strength. I am usually an optimist, but I think geopolitics will become markedly worse before we see any hopeful signs of an improvement.
