Will: Staying long with a portion, but I took profits as soon as LD opened his mouth and said, "diverting." The remainder I am still ahead on by a wee bit, but I expect to see VLNC right back in the mid $4's soon where I'll begin the collection effort again. Why back down to $4 range? No COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION announcement was rendered. I'm frankly surprised about the diverting of "redundant" equipment(whatever that means) to Henderson in order to make that pilot plant more of an initial production plant. It was defended, in a general statement, by saying that it's hard for scientists to work with a production plant "across 6 time zones." I'm not sure I buy that one, since the web allows allll kinds of R&D from myraid locations on this planet(just look at how worldwide corporations are using it today--Ford as an example). I tend to see that comment as a positive spin to the more probable reality of continuing difficulties ramping the lines up to any kind of speed. I will, however, grant the legitimacy of the argument about having a domestic plant being responsible for all initial production runs as the product evolves and changes over time....that makes sense......but that timezone argument.....hmmm.......to me that represents positive spin and not much more. So we're right back where we started, as I'm sure some of the longs with extended tenure would say "figures." Again VLNC has refused to categorically state a production timeframe, except saying vaguely, "end of 1st qrtr is tight." Bottom line, my gut says the 1st qrtr is shot. Based on that gut feel, looking forward, ASSUMING they are able to reach some sort of line speed against which COMMERCIAL product samples could be freely(this he did state) given to OEM's for their testing, the end of second qrtr and into the rest of '98 is still possible VLNC's. So I'm back, profits in hand from this wee run up, to try it again....ya gotta takes your profit where you can get it. But the one individual I felt for on that call was the guy from Red Chip. Reading between the lines he clearly wasn't happy with LD's bombshell. His, "and just WHEN was this diverting decision made" comment had pissed off written allllll over it. I can't say I blame him....... The saga continues.... John~
