Electric Tesla cars lined up in Hope BC waiting to use a charger so they can complete their trip to the interior and parts unknown. The smallest Model S or X battery holds about 75kWh. That means that if you draw 75.000 Watts continuously for an hour, you will deplete the battery. Using the air conditioner in the summer or heater in the winter reduces the 400 mile range by 35% to 50%. By the time you travel from Vancouver to Hope (about 1.5 hr drive) you need to recharge to get to say Kelowna (another couple hours down the road). It takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge. After waiting in line for a spot at the charging station. People who left Vancouver at 7am finally arrived in Kelowna at about 7pm to 9pm after waiting in line and then waiting for a full charge. Typically a 4 hr drive for a typical conventional gas powered vehicle. Be aware of your decisions.

Many Tesla's have driven across the country years ago. Just do a google search.

It's not true for other electric cars because they couldn't charge on Tesla's Superchargers!

The CCS standard used in other electric cars barely even existed in 2020.

I drove to Florida and back in November of 2019.

Absolutely no problems visiting friends down there. Total trip time plus those visits two weeks.

Have you ever done a road trip in a Tesla? I covered about 700 miles a day back then. Just like my trips to Tucson Arizona in January of 2018 and 2019 which I posted here and on the Tesla thread back in 2018 and 2019.

Close to 800 miles a day is easy on the V3 Superchargers with my Model S.
