Just checked the forty or so Tesla Superchargers in a 100 mile radius of Chicago and only one is down.

Country Club Hills, Illinois.

That's it.

Just one.

That's in real time about a minute ago. It's presently undergoing maintenance as per their website. Tesla RoadRangers on site.

In my Tesla on the screen I can bring up any Tesla Supercharger in NA in real time and look to see if it's up and operating, what stalls are available and if there is full occupancy what the estimated wait time is.
Right, but that's because Tesla spent an enormous amount of money developing the network, the software, the interfaces, and the infrastructure necessary to maintain its walled garden.

And as Apple demonstrated, the walled garden approach can be highly successful if done right.

Now Tesla is opening up the doors to its walled garden, but that's going to be a pain to get right, especially if the government is involved.
