we were not locked down in BC, I didn't miss a days work because of covid. large gathering were not allowed only 50 people at a time in stores and other venues depending of the size of the building, we had to wear a mask inside all stores and buildings, we were told washing your hands was a good idea. I worked with with 5 guys, we only wore masks when dealing with customers, usually truck drivers. no one got covid but a guy who worked in the office, he got real sick but survived, he was in his 30's. I had a medical emergency so I was hospitalized for nine days, every hospital worker wore masks and shields, I didn't get covid. they saved my life. Only saw one face in the 9 days I was there. my nurse who went with me the day I left, outside the door she was cute as hell. I had not been vaccinated yet, a lot of old folks were dying, people with medical conditions and poor immune systems. Not one of my close friends got covid or died, we all followed medical advice, one of my friends who had a liver transplant, he is still around today
