Hi David, I am really pleased with the input on this thread so far. I am glad it is providing the outlet I had hope for.

I was thinking about your comment, "How can't I be happy?" Many people never stop to think that, of all the things in life we try to control, the one thing we can always control is what we think.

We can't control other people or circumstances outside ourselves (stocks included), yet we try desperately to do so...especially those closest to us like family members. If we would just accept that we cannot change anyone but ourselves, and work to make ourselves want we want ourselves to be, we would be making the biggest contribution we could to society.

There is great peace in letting go. Letting go of business deals that go south, letting go of people that try to manipulate us, and letting go of our pasts. I am always happiest when I look at myself in the mirror in the morning, and I say, "I want to be a better man, and today, thank God, I have another chance to be one." Sounds simple, but it makes me want to try my best.

Happiness is a choice every day...making it our choice each day gives us peace knowing we are making the most of the one thing we can control, our thoughts.

I sit dog-tired, soul-weary at my desk
Another day of rumbles nearly past
And grip the mouse for one more duty
The Silicon Investor, where I must
View the prattle of traders and those
Who've won or lost the battles of the day
Then, mind fatigued, I turn to Dexx's thread
And read a tale of hardship and of woe
Turned to good fortune when lost loot is found
And all the while borne with optimism and grace
How could he not be happy? I contemplate
And breaks forth, unbidden, a smile from out my mouth
