You need to look at the actual capacity factors for coal generation in China. All of that inefficient "central planning" finally caught up with them. It's fallen below 50% as their economy continues to slow. They overbuilt coal fired generation. But renewable buildout has been exploding! That is what will displace all ff generation eventually. Why pay for expensive, polluting imported ff's when those clean options are available and built within their own country? Nah, The future of energy production is very obvious. Especially to those of us who engineer it.
