"Broadcast TV has been reduced to infantile pablum for people who won't pay for anything" - - nicely put

not broadcast tv, but kanopy is free and has some gems:

1) Ida

  • Best Foreign Language Film of the Year 2015

68 WINS & 91 NOMINATIONS - - RT 96%

btw, neither a thriller nor a documentary, as google has it.

2) Sudden Fear

Nominated for 4 Oscars
  • 2 wins & 5 nominations total - - RT 92%
  • you've got to like/tolerate Joan Crawford

3) Sami blood - - ( swedish) “An eloquent coming-of-age drama set in 1930s Sweden that revolves around a spellbinding performance by young Lene Cecilia Sparrok. “ 97% (RT) - - 42 award nominations; writer/director is of sami heritage. Interesting what the star is doing now. Spectacular in all aspects. One especially violent scene.

I only subscribe to two streaming services at a time. Apple has had some good shows. But when we've seen them we'll switch. The only constant is Netflix for now.
We don't do Amazon Prime. But Amazon's free stream Freevee has some good shows, and the commercials so far are not bad (mostly Amazon house ads) We always find plenty to watch.
We dropped cable TV years ago. When we need to check for live news, plenty of selections on the Roku
streamers.
