Seems like the Core Comrades are in wait and watch and see mode. Lots of talk, no action but consistent with Main Core Comrade’s ideological bent.

Communists, like school shooters and terror bombers, adore manifestos. The latest Chinese CP manifesto, the Third Resolution, must be read with care. It contains major clues:

++The principal contradiction facing Chinese society in the new era is that between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people's ever-growing needs for a better life, and the Party must therefore remain committed to a people-centered philosophy of development, develop whole-process people's democracy, and make more notable and substantive progress toward achieving well-rounded human development and common prosperity for all.++

I wouldn't get excited over a 3-4% gain in the middle of a strong downturn with Core Comrades in jaw-jaw mode. A test for Xi but he’s using Li.

Xi’s latest blast at the West must be read in this highly ideological (definitely not pragmatic) vein. China needs a Deng right now but instead got Mao’s altar boy.

The Third Resolution is not, in my view, to be taken lightly and it is not particularly benevolent to your kind. The present imbroglio presents Xi with what he might well see as an opportunity to implement his ‘leveling’ thoughts.

I would hate to be in Li’s shoes at the moment.

We’ll see.

You might be facing a great opportunity or a disaster. It’s all very murky except for one thing: you're not getting younger. Losses are hard to repair.

Good luck.
