The accounts of the only two survivors of the hostage-taking incident in Be'eri on October 7 give the impression that the Israel Defense Forces employed the so-called Hannibal Directive with the people being held hostage by Hamas inside one of the houses on the kibbutz

Something's dramatically wrong with the IDF response if there are only two survivors to a hostage situation. There should've at least been a standoff between the militants and the IDF where one could point to more potential survivors with perhaps some being killed if things went awry.
