Gosh--so many important topics..
Daisies are the worst. Girls who end their name with an i and then draw a daisy for the dot. These girls are trouble, never trust a girl who does that. People will believe anything a girl who draws daisies at the end of her name says. I mean, someone who does that is just too dumb to lie.
Or people who want their name to end in i; those are scary people. When I was a freshman in college, Lucy Johnson changed her name to Luci with her parents' approval, although what could you expect from a woman named Ladybird and a man who picked dogs up by their ears. I was appalled. I am a legitimate penni with an i! Always have been. I really, really hated Luci when she did that. I felt she cheapened all of us who had earned our i's honestly.

My mother thought Penni was such a cute name; she obviously never looked ahead and saw how severely she was limiting my future to being a cheerleader, Inspector Gadget's daughter, or Sky King's niece. Lawyers, CEO's, bank president's are not named penni. The powers that be automatically throw out your application when they see i's on the ends of names. "Nope-send this one to our cheerleading department."

Well, I don't mean to whine. I've learned to adjust. If I'd had a daughter I was ready. She would have been Sydney. Or Michael. You know, something that immediately said-"Hey-now that's a woman with some testosterone to her name." Like -Hillary..

By the way, I tried to duplicate your experiment, as best someone whose name ends in i can, but there's only about 7 feet of space between the computer and the bookshelves. And I had no carrots, so I tried to fill my mouth with V-8 and then bang my teeth together, but that just made me drool tomato juice all over my white turtleneck. So I tried looking at it from the side like someone said, real furtively---trying to surprise it. But it never went whyup, whyup , whyup--no matter how fast I turned around. Either my computer is a lot smarter than yours, or yours is broken.

Even worse (indeed, far worse) is the variant of Saccharine Sally that actually goes out and buys smileyface and frownyface stickers and puts them on memos.

Bilbo/Buddy informs me taht Hillary draws smiley faces on her memoranda. He won't state what his relationship with Hillary is, but the Secret Service has revealed that he is often seen alone with her. She strokes his ears.
