The stock price says it all. BTW, I never said it is a scam. I said it could be a SCAM. Maybe if you did your DD you wouldn't be down so much. WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT.HMMMMMMMMM. B.A.T. <BAAT.OB> says SEC subpoenas documents BURBANK, Calif., Feb 17 (Reuters) - B.A.T. International Inc said Tuesday it had received a subpoena from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission seeking company documents. In a statement, B.A.T. said it intends to fully cooperate with the SEC "as long as the SEC can provide adequate assurance that it will protect B.A.T.'s intellectual property." B.A.T. is developing a technology called Dolphin Pulse Charge that it believes will boost the fuel efficiency of cars. Details about the information sought by the SEC are confidential, the company said. B.A.T. said its patent filing efforts will be accelerated due to the SEC's request for information. It said it will file provisional patents on the Dolphin Pulse technology with the U.S. Patent Office by Feb 20, and it will make a final patent filing within several weeks. The company said it will request that the SEC sign nondisclosures for all parties reviewing the Dolphin Pulse patent application. The SEC subpoena was prompted by high-volume trading in B.A.T. stock, not by any wrongdoing by B.A.T., the company said. B.A.T. said it is complying with new SEC rules concerning quarterly filings of financial documents and is not late in any required filings. B.A.T. said it expects to complete and publicly release certified financial results for 1997 in the next several weeks. 12:37 02-17-98
AND THIS REPEAT/B.A.T. Will Be Fully Cooperating with SEC and Providing All Information Requested; Patents on Dolphin Pulse Charge Technology Being Filed by February 20th BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--February 17, 1998--On February 11, 1998, B.A.T. received a subpoena from the SEC for documents. This occurred only one day after B.A.T. completed its 2nd certified demonstration of its fuel efficient automobile technology called Dolphin Pulse Charge (see Press Release dated February 10, 1998). The SEC subpoena was prompted by the high volume trading in B.A.T. stock that resulted in some erratic price changes. There is a likely link to market makers. It was not prompted by any failure to file financial information or because of any wrongdoing by B.A.T. B.A.T. has filed all required financial documents with Standard and Poors and can legally be traded on the O.T.C. exchange. B.A.T. is also complying with new 1998 SEC rules concerning quarterly filings of financial documents and is not late in any required filings. B.A.T. expects to complete and publicly release certified financials for 1997 in the next several weeks, (well before they are required). The SEC letter to B.A.T. clearly states, "This inquiry is confidential and should not be construed as an indication by the Commission or its staff that any violation of the law has occurred, nor as a reflection upon any person, entity or security." B.A.T. intends to fully cooperate with the SEC concerning information requests, as long as the SEC can provide adequate assurance that it will protect B.A.T.'s intellectual property. Other details about the information requested are confidential. As a result of the SEC actions, B.A.T. patent filing efforts will be accelerated. B.A.T. will be filing provisional patents on Dolphin Pulse Charge technology with the U.S. Patent Office by February 20th. This will be followed up with a final patent filing within several weeks, once all final modifications and legal review are completed. B.A.T. will be requesting that the SEC sign non-disclosures for all parties reviewing the Dolphin Pulse Charge patent application and plan to have this matter discussed between the SEC and our legal counsel. Other patent information that is a part of provisional patents already filed on SEALER battery technology by Ultra-Force Battery Co. will be provided to the SEC. Several other actions are also being taken to assist in further controlling information flow to the public. B.A.T. will no longer be participating in any "chat room" discussions on the Internet as currently structured. B.A.T. President Joe LaStella has participated in four "chat room" discussions to answer shareholder questions. Unfortunately, there have been a huge number of imposters claiming to be Mr. LaStella that are providing misleading and/or false information to the public. Any further "chat room" discussions will only occur if they are announced publicly on the web site or in a release with a specific time. We request that all interested parties disregard any information on the "chat room," since we are unable to verify the accuracy of this information.
