This is one of the best posts I've read on SI. Your insights are right on target in my opinion.

The principles of writing posts are outstanding - I totally agree with them:

* One should always write from the reader's perspective.

* There is something to be said for undressing a disagreeable or ignorant post by questioning the statement and leaving the poster out of it personally.

Ok, I admit I'm one of those wimpy group who doesn't want to scare any insightful posters away after all I'm here to make money not give etiquette lessons. Now that you've made your good point lets relax or wimps like me are going to start shaking in our booties

Wonderful post about on-line etiquette. Because of the time constraints involved in reading this thread (and others), once I label someone a "nasty" I very seldom ever read their posts again. So, if you want your message to carry the most effective punch, be constructive, not obnoxious!
