Wharfie,
Apples and oranges; we're dependent on foreign oil to run our cars. We use NG for generating electricity.
Hey genius, maybe you make the transition to EVs more viable if you let us build up more natural gas infrastructure along with all of the power plants needed to charge these vehicles.

When framed in that context, you can exploit the power of our existing infrastructure and logistics to really make our EV future a reality.

At the same time, you would also reduce our dependence on foreign oil. That's a win-win scenario that anyone ought to get behind.

Moreover, EVs powered by natural gas, while not exactly the zero-carbon future you were hoping for, is STILL better for the environment and STILL possesses a lower "carbon shoe size" than petrol-fueled vehicles.

But nope, you'd rather pass mandates and hope that solar and wind generation can fill the huge demand that such mandates would require.
