Ya, I know. But I am discussing the physical limitations. And even if ASML learns to bend the laws of physics (this is done to some extent by using metal instead of semiconductor) the gain to effort/cost ratio drops hard. Why do you think that the Biden administration has banned 10yr old machine exports to China? You'd think 1 or 2 generation would be more than enough to maintain our lead. But not if the current gen is not that much ahead of 2 gens ago. Anyways, the cycle disruption I talked about is a little more immediate concern. It should take its toll in about 2 years and cause a bull whip effect similar to what the shipping industry is going through now.
