I can already see it now.

Even the article that you posted shows a rate of increase of just 4 percentage points per year, from 2% to 22% over five years.

And that isn't accelerating. In fact, it might even slow down a bit over the next year or two.

Then there's the charging infrastructure needed to support an acceleration of sales.

Which of course is also well behind the curve.

The truth is that 2035 is a completely made-up number. It's simply something to aim for, not something that has any reasonable chance of success.

I've seen managers (on both sides of the hierarchy, both from below and from above) who do things like that. They come up with a completely made up timeline, then wait until the end before informing upper management that the goal cannot be reached.

I don't know about other industries, but here in semiconductors, that'll never fly.

P.S. - Now if you're willing to admit that the mandate would have to be pushed out by 10 years, at least you'd be intellectually honest. Only problem is having to deal with the oh-so-evil Republicans, who will gloat to no end ...
