Eric,
California has lead technology development on many fronts for decades.
If you let the entrepreneurs, us tech geeks, the "green" startups, and the free market dictate the transition to a "better, cleaner, and more sustainable existence," then California will indeed lead the way.

Right now, California wants to "lead the way" with political mandates and #magicalthinking.

Like I said, where the Brandon is our high-speed train? That alone should tell you how utterly incompetent California's politicians are.
