Shocking surprise revealed! Upgrades may not be so easy for some older Rockwell chipset users, says 56k.com info site:

56k.com

(in the Feb 16 newsflash quoting Shane Lord of Sirius Technologies)

We knew they might have a little trouble.... what this means, if you have a Rockwell modem with only 1Meg flash, is that you shouldn't upgrade from K56 to V.90 until you're sure your ISP has V.90, because you can't have both K56 and V.90 in those models.

To the best of my knowledge, none of the 3Com products have this problem upgrading from X2 to V.90... the upgrade supports both, so you can upgrade right away.

Well the x2 v.90 upgrade page says they will let me know. What's the odds of them telling me before...you, Moonray or the thread? Somewhere between slim and none I'd guess. :o)

I want my v.90!!
