Because most indicators are only correlated with stock movement and correlation is not causality. As a result an indicator may trigger but the stock movement maybe off by days, weeks and even months depending on the indicator. As a result you need more information to help with the timing of your trading system. This particular piece of information gives some information about seasonality and cycles and in this case narrows the timeframe. Everyone has there own trading system if this additional information does not work for your system you can ignore it. I take the position the more relevant information I can have on hand to help me make a decision the better.
