Eric,

I just finished listening to the tape after reading the boards first and I have to admit I feel a little better, i.e. I put the sleeping pills back in the medicine chest for another day. Things certainly aren't what we had hoped for but it isn't a disaster either.

Some positives that I noted are:
1. Senate only has 23 solid votes for ban - need 29
2. Revenues are up in Jan./Feb.
3. Future acq. for cash rather than stock - no more dilution
4. Orton sale - diversification and taxes - still holds over 100000 sh. with no plans to sell more (not aware of any other officers selling)
5. concentration on Bingo Halls until Gaming issue resolved - no further gaming purchases
6. 67% of S.C. voters favor VGM's if tied to increasing taxes for education
7. Making more money with 14 halls than they were making with 20

And some negatives:
1. not going to make .44 for 97
2. deal flow very slow going into 98 - NEVER going to make 1/wk.
3. legal/lobbying sounds like it's eating them up in S.C.
4. can't figure out how you can start with 20, close 6 in S.C. and 2 in Tex. and come up with 14.
5. Mims indicated that S.C. situation will not be settled until late May

And some items of interest:
1. no add'l VGM's but Mims mentioned they just added 15 around Myrtle beach
2. Wilson called the CEO shuffle "Internal Negotiations" - I like that
3. Wilson's reason for price decline - arbs and afterwards they "stumbled on the Press Release" - the man has a way with words

Well, I guess some of the uncertainty has been removed, kind of, maybe, sort of.......
