Not holding any currently... not having done sufficient DD on it to know where the marble is. If there's going to be a special divvie... probably not going to be happening while they're still focused on and busy shuffling decks... so there doesn't appear to be a reason to hurry, now. And, if there's not going to be a special divvie... the future uses made of the capital being aggregated now at a fairly rapid pace... should be enough of a "slow moving ship" that there's time to sort it... It is looking like they've left a lot more value in CTRM in spite of the "spin out"... through the "equity position" in the convertible note... than the market is expecting, or pricing into it, right now. I'm not a fan of that sort of lack of transparency or "gamesmanship"... and see the effort made as more of a red flag than an point of interest. But, even given risks in "where the marble is"... it seems a set of risks that is mitigated somewhat... buy both companies generating piles of cash and sporting a P/E < 1... without that requiring me to go "all in'" on a trade. It is a known that there are risks inherent in... ongoing wars, of both the trade war sort, and the physical sort... that dictate caution for the near term... but, that's a bigger risk for CTRM / TORO in having the market flatten and deflate again in the event of those sorts of risks evaporating... as, currently, there is a rising tide lifting even the least of the shippers... It will rain in Panama, again. And, the current set of wars in the Middle East will end, eventually... although... they might well grow into a bigger issue still before they do ? But, also given that I'm also not particularly risk averse... in terms of "a little bit" of this or that... there being a big difference between "a primary holding" and "a trade"... not too big an issue for me in "mileage may vary" between this or that ? Worthwhile DD exercise in any case... useful in its own right... to keep abreast of "how" they're working on stealing from you...
