Sometimes I wish I could go back to the naivety of my youth, when I trusted humanity and was unaware of how cruel people can be. What helps me to keep faith in humanity is to constantly remind myself that 95% plus (?) people are good and decent. Sadly these 95% hardly ever make headlines while the 5% is the media’s bread and butter. A trend which has and still is only accelerating with the growth of “social media”. What makes matters worse, it has become virtually impossible to differentiate between factual and fake news.
