Congratulations on your success and pretty homestead.

I'm very happy where I live too, but it is quite different!

The advantage of a very large country is there is something for everyone.

I give up owning and caring for a lot of land in exchange for having a lot of very good restaurants nearby (see my FB posts) with world class skiing, windsurfing and golf close by plus several top hospitals I can walk to but would drive or take public transportation if, no when, I need them.

The way property taxes work in California, I took out three loans to get this place 30 years ago as I saw what inflation and the government would do with taxes was coming down the line. So, it worked out very well even though the supply of lunatic, California voters and politicians seems endless.

Nice place and pics Iso !

How do those second stories work out when you are 70+ ?

When I stay at Bro-In-Laws house in central Or., most of the living is upstairs. Didn't use to bother me in 40s-50s but 60s is starting to be a pain in the ass. When I briefly look around at new properties I shun when I see multiple stories. No problem for you ?
