This is a bit of an interesting article. No apparent reason for it to be false news, but biased probably yes.

renewablesnow.com

I have always wondered how the EIA reports or does not report distributed small scale power within their statistics. Appears they do not report anything less than 1 MW. And it may have to be utility related.
But according to this utility scaled new solar power additions surpassed all other sources by a wide margin last year. And over the next three years solar additions are predicted to vastly increase. Bit of an assumption on my part but many seem to be going in with battery storage.

Surprised not to see more natural gas power being installed, especially given NG prices.

Otoh read the foot notes about the capacity factors.

Solar stocks have had the crap beat out them over the last few years. I am following a few, look like big bottoms being made to me. Bwdik. Csiq, Run, Spwr .... When they move they move, both directions. No positions.

Been my opinion that more than likely 'the grid' needs a lot of new additional power over the next few years or more. Robust economy, growing country, more bitcoin farms, more EV's, ...... = more power. If we have another hot summer, could get interesting this year. Was close last year.
