I wish I knew how this announcement will impact on Micron ?
Will another Dram maker gain the "least cost" advantage as most
Dram makers convert to RDRAM ???
I think it means each supplier will have the ability to build it. Now to test it, and ship it is another thing, oh yes , and make a profit.
One DRAM maker could gain an early lead in lower cost, but if each company is on equal footing with the latest FAB equipment they should be able to achieve a low cost as volume goes up. I guess we shall see next year how this plays out. Micron appears to be heavily involved in the front end of the dev. with Micron as several other suppliers are as well.
