Rod, I actually used a Zip drive with my E-Mu sampler a couple of months ago, and guess what? The damn thing clicked repeatedly (actually, more like a "clunk" or "thunk") and I panicked, thinking that all of my valuable work was gone. We switched out Zip drives, and was able to get the info off the disc. But any thought of buying a Zip drive went right out the window with my first hand knowledge that Zip is unreliable.

It is my opinion that many here are hiding their own personal experiences with this Click of Death problem, or are in denial.

Where are you coming up with your statistics Rod?
I've owned a Zip drive since they first came out,
had to hit Best Buy three times at open to get it.
I'll admit I don't use it often but no problems here.

If I recall Jonathan had a novel way of tracking user disgust,
one merely searches through the applicable newsgroups in Usenet.
Certainly not much here - more free support than complaints:

Neither long nor short nor inbetween, just curious.
