*AV*--Mine go for her "real braces" tomorrow morning. The "pre-braces" were the wires(spring loaded) behind the teeth to move some of the teeth around and create space. Now that her teeth arrangement has been widened, the rubber band and rubber bumpered wired braces get put in. The 18 month ordeal starts with no assurances that in 5 years she won't have to do it again<GGG>. Nothing like double jeopardy.

Good luck with yours and make sure her othodontist is not one of those wire guys that torques and tightens the wires until the kid's eyes bulge out then backs off a slight bit. The new school of thought is that a light amount of pressure reduces the body's resistance to the movement, allowing the shifts to occur more rapidly. IT has worked in my daughter's case.
