Jerry,

Thanks for your response/retort. You are correct. I'm not directly in this field either. I am not trashing VTSS. I know the Gilder report caused a lot of waves and worried a lot of VTSS investors,
rightly or wrongly. I was not trying to go in depth about SiGe but merely stated an observation. I don't want you or anyone else here to lose money any more than I want myself to lose money. I was just following leads on SiGe and of course it led me here. You seemed to have a coherent argument why SiGe won't take over GaAs in the near future, and I was interested in your reasoning.

If I were a VTSS investor, I would not be blind to this potential individual investor perception problem. Most investors are not EE's and that includes the big money managers. Based on my research, you are right that SiGe is not ready for prime time yet but ten years?
Ten years as you suggest is a lifetime in this industry. By the way, I never said or implied that ANAD or VTSS competed directly with each other. Several years ago, before ANAD and VTSS made their big moves forward, I researched both of them quite thoroughly but decided not to buy them at that time....obviously a missed opportunity on my part.

Sorry to have ruffled your feathers. That was not my intention.

Tom C.
