An interesting factoid I came across by accident, exactly who was Alfred Russel Wallace?

A biology big shot from the past seemingly. Up there with Darwin.

Most famously, he had the revolutionary idea of evolution by natural selection entirely independently of Charles Darwin.

&

Charles Darwin was impressed with how much Wallace’s theory of natural selection matched his own: ‘He could not have made a better short abstract! Even his terms now stand as heads of my chapters!’

Definitely the same guy.

Resister's logic: the anti-vaccination arguments of Alfred Russel Wallace and their role in the debates over compulsory vaccination in England, 1870-1907 - PubMed (nih.gov)

So the antivaxxers do have some historical heavyweights on their side after all. -g-
