BTW I saw that someone on this thread was looking at TAVA (TPRO) on one hand while VLNC sank on the other.
hy Phil you must have read one of my posts...Yikes>>>
yes I do own both of them vlnc and topro/tava..........
glad I am one of this stupid investors who own a piece (very little) of 2 great companies......as you might have observed after topro's cc call the shareprice ended up 1 3/32 ...up 50% the last 7 days....
Dreyfus Investment own 1 m shares some other institutional investors own about another 2 million shares combined...they all must have listened to the same telemarketing...company eh...or maybe they get their tips from the psychic network...?????
you now I had the experience that it is easy to pick the right moment to buy a stock , but very difficult to pick the right timing in selling it...
Selling VLNC n o w, is IMHO, surely does not look like the right timing....having said all that..I would like to wish you a successful investment future...and thank you for sharing your investment strategy with us ......
regards j.c.

Phil:

I hope you check back in at least once more to see this. I've felt your frustration (and clearly today you were not alone) before. However, over the last couple years I've been reading books on stock investing and my efforts have been steadily improving. One of the books that turned me around the most was "Investment Psychology Explained" by Martin Pring. Its not too long or dense and is filled with lots and lots of good RULES that help keep all the bad emotions that make us lousy investors under control.

In fact, since reading his book, the only time I've lost serious money is when I disobeyed my own rules. In the last half of '97, which was not generally a good period for the market indexes, my portfolio was up 25%.

As an aside, and back to this thread's topic, I still believe that energy storage in today's technological environment is a critical resource. WHEN Valence produces I also believe that the market will validate that opinion. I'm long VLNC.
