Here's a terrifically interesting piece IMO, on the perils of the market, and how shorts manipulate (originally posted on another site).

wanting to support open dialogue. got to.
and hoping lurkers and posters both react as if it's all been said already and put to bed...
i've spent a lot of time watching a "threadshred" to the point of soap opera deterioration. i'm sure many of you will check me out.
IMO Stan was out of line with comments that struck me as witchhunting or bearbaiting...whatever. IMO NOONE has the right to paste a label..or an armband.
kudos to Ron's blackshirt metaphor :)
i've been in and out of RADAF a couple of times this year and have appreciated the factual nature of the discourse. this thread directly led to successful put writing just before the Jan. expiration. loved those reports of empty shelves after the holidays. and it's great to have the CFO monitoring and posting.
seems like there is a lot of pentup buying pressure following the uncertainty of the Hasbro purchase.
i want to hear what people's concerns are. and finally a question? i've seen a number of estimates of possible upcoming quarterly numbers. noone ever talks about inventory writedowns for pricing changes or unsold product. i saw Bass Fishin at the local Walgren's for 19.99, and received one for X-mas and was told it had been marked down. Did the company offer a price concession to Target (which was the source of of my "rod") or was the price a teaser to get shoppers into Target? are any of the "quant" types here factoring possible incentives into this quarter's numbers (margins)? or the percentage of returns from buyers whose units failed?
BTW, i couldn't get the game out of my nephews' hands the whole weekend after Christmas. and i still haven't caught the lunker... and my unit has totally frizzed out and needed resetting a number of times.
and i'm not short. just not ready to be back in.
